Project Tab

Usually you start from this tab. Here you should enter general Content Builder Project information. By default Content Builder loads last used project.

Buttons

  • Close - closes Content Builder viewer
  • New - creates new blank project file (text file with *.cbp extension)
  • Load - loads existing project file
  • Save - saves changes to project file

Fields

  • Name - name of the project
  • Folder - path to the root project folder where project files are stored
  • Source folder - folder with source (template) books
  • Image folder - folder for all imported resources (paintObjects, bitmaps, etc.)
  • Result folder - folder where the result book will be placed
Content Tab

Next step is forming the list of content files (either in MS Excel or Word format). I'm planning to add other formats for storing content, e.g. PowerPoint format.

Buttons

  • Add - adds new MS Word or Excel content file to the project at the bottom of the list. The file must be located in the project root directory.
  • Delete - deletes selected file from the project.
  • To top, To bottom - change the order of content files in the project list.

Check button

  • Skip file - when button is checked Content Builder ignores information in the file.

Fields

  • Selected sheets (Excel only) - mark Excel worksheets that will be used.
Toolbook Tab

This is the main Content Builder control panel with progress indicator and control buttons.

Buttons

  • Build - initiates the process of project execution. If error occurs it will be shown in the log file and execution will be aborted.
  • Try - the same as Build, except that in this mode CB doesn't make any changes in the source book. Pushing this button you can check the correctness of all included content files.
  • Reset - is used for Resetting OLE environment in the debug mode. This button closes last used content document if unexpected execution suspension has occurred and the file hasn't been closed automatically. I use this button very often when writing and debugging new routines.

Fields

  • Source File - the name of toolbook source (template) file in the <Source Folder>
  • Result File - the name under which the result of project execution will be saved in the <Result Folder>
  • Log File - the name of the log file in the root project folder if writing log file option is enabled.
Options Tab

This tab is used for Content Builder and associated products activation (see Installation & Registration), setting different options of the plug-in and is subject to future changes and updates.

Button<Test Environment> starts the diagnostics of OLE Automation components installed on your computer. Without successful passing the test operation is impossible.

Library Tab

For advanced Toolbook users and experienced OpenScript programmers only. The fields on this page serve as a script holder of Content Builder libraries. The script of shown fields contains OpenScript code, in the field itself (text property) declarations of functions are stored. This tab is also subject to changes, because I am planning to add a special option of loading protected and encrypted custom libraries here.

Anyway everybody may try to write his own library function. For the details refer to the Library Reference.
